Artificial intelligence has entered a new stage of development
The great potential of AI for technological, industrial and social change has been widely recognized in the world. The AI strategies of various countries have been further upgraded from a few big countries to a global layout.
By 2030, China is expected to achieve the world's leading level in theory, technology and application of artificial intelligence, and become the world's main innovation center of artificial intelligence.
Lack of basic theory and original algorithms, dependence on imports of key components, lack of high-level open source platform and so on are the shortcomings that China must speed up in the field of artificial intelligence.
"Human beings are moving towards the age of intelligence." Recently, Gao Wen, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and President of the Chinese Computer Society, said at the "2019 Digital Exposition" that since 2006, with the continuous integration of big data and artificial intelligence, artificial intelligence is entering a new stage of development, "artificial intelligence will be the core key technology in the future".
Nowadays, artificial intelligence has become a new focus of international competition. According to the data, in 2018, 12 countries and regions issued or strengthened the AI strategic plan, and 11 other countries are preparing to formulate their AI national strategy.
Recently released "China's New Generation of Artificial Intelligence Development Report 2019" shows that since 2018, the enormous potential of artificial intelligence for technological, industrial and social change has been widely recognized around the world. The strategies of artificial intelligence in various countries have been further upgraded. Artificial intelligence is moving from a few big countries to global layout.
China attaches great importance to promoting the development of artificial intelligence. So far, 19 provinces (districts and municipalities) have issued 26 AI policies. For example, last year, Guiyang High-tech Zone promulgated "Ten Artificial Intelligence Policies", setting up 50 million yuan of AI special development fund and 100 million yuan of AI industry development fund every year, to create an open innovation platform for AI.
Promoted by the policy, the industrialization of AI in China has been accelerated, which has brought about great changes in the fields of intelligent manufacturing, science and technology finance, digital content and new media, new retail, intelligent security and other applications, providing strong support for the transformation of new and old kinetic energy and the high-quality development of the national economy. According to statistics, the scale of China's artificial intelligence market in 2018 is 1.76 billion US dollars, which is expected to reach 11.9 billion US dollars in 2023. By 2030, China is expected to achieve the world's leading level in theory, technology and application of artificial intelligence, and become the world's main innovation center of artificial intelligence.
Yan Hongwei, chairman and CEO of Xunfei Fantasy (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd., said that at present, AI is deeply integrated with various industries. Concepts and concepts have gradually become reality. "In the future, AI will affect people's lives like water and electricity, and accelerate the intelligent development of people and society."
Because of the late start of research, the insufficient accumulation of AI in basic theory and original algorithm, the main dependence of key components on imports, the lack of a high-level open source platform in China, and the shortage of high-end talents, are the shortcomings that China must speed up in the field of AI in the future.
Gao Wen said that the top priority is to organize, clean and protect data, build an open source platform, explore application scenarios, and screen out a number of successful cases in vertical areas through various competition exchanges and promote them. "We should give full play to the subjective initiative of the government, enterprises, education, scientific research departments and other parties, and work together to make up for the shortcomings."
It is worth noting that the application of AI in many specific industries has just started, and it is necessary to keep a clear mind and not follow the trend blindly. At the same time, data security and privacy disclosure are also accompanied by the emergence of intelligent applications. It is also necessary to speed up the formulation of industry standards and technical regulations. (Reporter Wu Bingze Wang Xinwei)
