The rapid rise of AI industry or computer vision market with a scale of 100 billion
In recent years, biometrics, machine learning and automatic driving have increasingly become the focus of attention of all sectors of society, and the degree of integration of artificial intelligence with society and human life has been deepening. The emergence and application of artificial intelligence technology not only enriches people's leisure and entertainment life, but also promotes the construction of new industrial system in transportation, medical, education and other industries. As a cutting-edge technology, computer vision plays a very important role in the whole AI industry.
From the perspective of development process, China's AI industry has decades of development history, and is now in a booming stage. With the support of policy and the popularity of capital market, the scale of AI industry has achieved rapid growth. On May 15, Liu Wei, president of the Intelligence Research Institute of CSG University, said at the founding meeting of the Artificial Intelligence Industry Alliance of the G60 Kechuang Corridor in the Yangtze River Delta that the scale of the artificial intelligence market is expected to reach 100 billion by 2020. Among them, the computer vision market has a larger development space.
Looking around the world, the computer vision industry has entered a period of steady growth. Although China started late, it developed rapidly. In 2015, the market scale of computer vision industry has been in the forefront of the world, and it has become an important market of computer vision. At the same time, some analysts pointed out that AI, as one of the core parts of the new generation of information technology, has been applied in many fields, such as basic layer, technology layer and application layer. According to the data of Tsinghua University, at the technical level, the application of computer vision accounts for 34.9% of the total application of artificial intelligence, which has become an important support for the development of various industries.
At present, China's computer vision market pattern has initially taken shape. In terms of the core barriers of the industry, the short-term and medium-term technological and product capabilities, and the long-term ecological construction capabilities. At present, the concentration of computer vision market in China tends to be high. According to IDC statistics, in 2017, Shangtang, Ignorance, Yitu and Yuncong accounted for 69.4% of the computer vision application market.
In fact, in addition to the above-mentioned enterprises, Tencent, Baidu, Ali, Jinshan and other giants are also stepping up the layout, and there are also many companies in the field of computer vision in the list of recently released science and technology board acceptance companies. At the same time, overseas technology giants have frequently acquired technology teams to launch open source computer vision development platforms and hope to gain more opportunities in the fierce international market competition.
From the application scenario, domestic computer vision industry applications include security, finance, the Internet, automatic driving, augmented reality, unmanned retail and so on. According to IDC's market tracking, the three industries with the largest output of computer vision technology in China in 2018 are government, finance and internet. The two biggest scenarios are Ping An City in government industry and face recognition-based identity in finance industry. With the continuous maturity of technology, the application scope of computer vision will be further expanded.
For example, in the field of medical image analysis, computer vision has great potential for development. If in-depth learning and image recognition technology in computer vision are applied to medical image analysis, then computer vision technology can be applied to medical image aided diagnosis. Modern medicine relies more and more on medical image information. When patients go to hospital, they are often asked to take CT, magnetic resonance and other medical images. Image recognition and natural language processing in computer vision can provide strong technical support for doctors to analyze and judge medical images comprehensively to some extent.
At present, the data types processed by AI technology include text, voice, image and video. According to Cisco, the proportion of global online video traffic in total traffic will increase from 75% in 2017 to 82% by 2022, and online data will be increasingly dominated by video data. Computer vision, which mainly deals with images and videos, has more abundant application scenarios and commercial value than other artificial intelligence technologies which mainly deal with words or voice.
In the future, with the progress of in-depth learning, the expansion of computer storage and the explosion of visual data sets, computer vision technology will develop rapidly. From surveillance camera to license plate recognition, from face recognition to exit and entry management, computer vision will play an important role. With the gradual popularization of artificial intelligence technology, computer vision will usher in new development opportunities and achieve many results.
