Solution for detecting the quantity of bottles in packaging boxes for machine vision applications

After a manufacturing company packs boxes automatically, it needs to check whether there are bottles in the boxes, whether they are placed correctly, and whether the quantities are accurate.

The packaging box with the bottle moves along with the belt. A CCD industrial camera is installed directly above the belt transfer line. The CCD industrial camera takes a picture of each box, collects images and counts the beverage bottles in the box. For processing, if it fails, a signal alarm will be issued, as shown below.

Scheme configuration

MV-EM series 1.2-megapixel CCD camera and AFT-RL series low-angle circular industrial light source were used for image acquisition, and MV-MVICS machine vision image processing software was used to analyze and process the acquired images. The detection speed was about 2 boxes / s .
