Flexible electronic devices have ultra-thin, foldable, and extensible "skin-like" characteristics, and have broad application prospects in energy, medical, and communication fields. In addition to its good mobility and adaptability, this robot is also equipped with a variety of sensors, temperature and humidity sensors, food toxin sensors, and wireless energy harvesting modules. The birth of this robot has important scientific value and application market.

Professor Huang Xian said: In theory, a miniature "software" robot developed using flexible electronic technology can repeatedly change its shape to achieve functions such as motion, grasping, transportation, and tactile sensing. However, at this stage, "software robots" are still facing "hard wounds" and need to rely on traditional rigid sensing elements and circuits, which seriously hindered the realization of performance. The diversified needs of modern society urgently call for the emergence of "fully flexible" robots.
