Machine vision
Machine vision successfully applied to waste separation and recycling
Since its birth, machine vision technology has been successfully used in various fields of national and industrial production, from industrial automation production lines, to intelligent transportation, from aerospace to medical imaging. The development of machine vision technology has unknowingly changed our lives, and its technical level has reached an unprecedented level. His continuous collision with the current social and technological hotspots is generating more and more magical effects.

What I want to say today is one of the environmental protection applications of machine vision, that is, the use of garbage collection. The purpose of garbage classification is to increase the resource value and economic value of garbage, and strive to make the best use of materials. However, the traditional waste sorting and recycling work requires a lot of manpower and material resources, which is a waste of resources in itself. If there is a way to realize automatic garbage separation and recovery, it will be a very pleasant thing. Now, this imagination can be realized immediately. With the help of machine vision technology, researchers have developed a robot that can identify and classify recyclable items in numerous wastes.
Garbage classification
This robot can sort out recyclable materials such as metal, concrete, and other materials from piles of rubbish based on comprehensive data and tactile feedback collected by visual sensors, metal detectors and weight measuring instruments mounted on its arm Wood and plastic, etc. and classified.
During operation, the waste to be sorted is placed on a conveyor belt, and the robot's robotic arm picks it up and analyzes it. If the type can be identified, the robot places it in different sorting boxes.
The robot's sorting system is assembled from off-the-shelf industrial robot parts, and new measuring devices can be added to further improve the success rate of this robot's recognition and sorting.

As a representative enterprise of machine vision in China, iJUNCO is participating in the research and development of such projects. After taking a picture of the garbage to be classified using a high-definition camera, the classification algorithm is executed on a computer and the detection results are transmitted to an execution unit such as a robot arm to complete the entire action. After the promotion of this system, it will be able to promote China's environmental protection cause to a higher level.
