At present, it is a very common requirement to work with a visually guided welding torch. Vision Bank's intelligent software Vision Bank software has done many such projects. This article shares a typical case. This case is special because it needs to be done again after welding. Test to determine whether the welding torch has completed the work accurately.
Project requirements:
1. A dark green cover has a small hole. The position of the hole needs to be located and sent to the PLC to guide the welding gun.
2. After the welding torch finishes the work, the visual inspection system needs to take photos again to determine whether it is qualified.

The main position of this project is to accurately see the position of the hole through a ring light source (note: because the bottom of the cover is closed, the backlight cannot be used), and then the calibration is performed by multi-point mapping, which can guide the welding gun to accurately weld . This time the vision required accuracy is not high, 0.5mm.
The difficulty of the project is that the solder is irregular. The basis for judging whether the solder is qualified is whether the solder covers the small holes. Although the ring light source can solve the positioning problem, it cannot accurately distinguish the gray levels of holes and other locations. In order to solve this project, considering the end color is dark green, using the red ring light and blue coaxial light source, the gray values of the surface of the solder, hole, and cover can be distinguished to achieve this test.
